The project HyMap: Hybrid materials for artificial photosynthesis (www.hymap.eu), has been selected for the exhibition: “emblematic projects” which will be showcased from this weekend in the National Museum for Science and Technology (MUNCyT) as one of the eight most innovative projects funded by the ERC programme in Spain. HyMap is being carried out by the Photoactivated Processes Unit at IMDEA Energy under the direction of Dr. Víctor A. de la Peña O´Shea.
The ERC (European Research Council) was founded in 2007 by the European Commission with the objective of supporting basic and competitive science in Europe and has invested 12.000 million euros in funding 7000 research projects all over Europe with nearly 400 of them being based in Spain. To commemorate the 10 years of existence of ERC, the Ministry of Economics, Industry and Competitiveness (MINECO) and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECyT) is organising a series of activities that will take place over the course of this year.
The commemoration will start this Friday 24th March with an institutional event: “The European Research Council: 10 years and beyond” that will be honoured by the presence of the Minister Luis de Guindos. This event will be followed by the inauguration of a monographic at the National Museum of Science and Technology (MUNCYT): 10 years at the frontier of knowledge that will consist of different exhibitions, activities and round tables showcasing some of the projects and research teams funded by the ERC in Spain.
