Ioan Robert Istrate
Graduated in Environmental Engineering by the Rey Juan Carlos University (2017). His bachelor’s thesis, ’Prospective analysis of internalising socio-environmental externalities of power generation in Spain’, was carried out in the System Analysis Unit at IMDEA Energy. As part of his bachelor’s studies, he performed 7 months of internship in the Energy Systems Analysis Unit at CIEMAT, where he participated in several research projects related with life cycle assessment of energy systems and recycling of PV solar panels. During the academic year 2017-2018 he studied a M.Sc. in Energy and Fuels for the Future by Autonomous University of Madrid. The same year, he was awarded with a grant for the promotion of research in Master’s studies to conduct a research project related with marginal abatement costs of carbon dioxide emissions from power generation, in collaboration with the Economics and Public Finance Department at UAM. In March 2018 he joined the System Analysis Unit of IMDEA Energy as predoctoral researcher.
