Hybrid-Leaf: Multifunctional hybrid photocatalysts for artificial photosynthesis

Research project corresponding to the call 2014 and reference: CTQ2014-51487-ERC, corresponding to Acciones de dinamización «Proyectos Europa Excelencia» 2014, within the State Program for Promotion of Scientific and Technical Reseach Excellence, State Sub-Program of Knowledge Generation, under the State Plan for Scientific Research and Technical Research and Innovation 2013-2016.

This proyect aims to develop a new generation of multifunctional hybrid photocatalysts and solar photoreactor which would allow the exploitation of at least the 1 % of the sunlight energy for the CO2 photoreduction using water as electron donor. This will imply a CO2 conversion in the range of 12 to 35 Ton/yha, depending on product distribution, which represents at least a 20-fold improvement over the state of the art.
