REM: Multipurpose electrochemical reactor for energy and environmental applications

Research project with reference: IPT-440000-2010-012, coordinated by the company PROINGESA, corresponding to the call 2010, for the Sub-program INNPACTO within the Instrumental line of Articulation and Internationalization System, under the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Innovation 2008-2011.

The main objective of this project is to design a multi electrochemical reactor, ie having a configuration such that it can be adapted easily to different types of applications. The flow batteries can be applied to the electric power storage and the capacitive deionization for treating waters with high salt content. The project also includes the design of auxiliary hydraulic systems, electrical and control the reactor to facilitate the operation in different applications.
