On 28th of October IMDEA Energy participated in a webinar organized by Futured dedicated to the presentation of “Study on the Prospective of Power Electronics Sector in Spain”. The objective of the document is to provide the information about the current state of the development of power electronics in Spain and its position in the value chain as well as to identify principal opportunities and challenges in the sector. The webinar included relevant experts in the field that helped identify the principal challenges for the decarbonisation of energy sector in Spain emphasising the pivotal role of power electronics technology.
In the session dedicated to the presentation of the document Dr. Milan Prodanovic summarised the current state of the power electronics field in Spain along with the technology capacities and its future potential. He firstly introduced the principal companies of the sector that participated in the questionnaire and then presented the existing industrial and academic R&D capacities.
IMDEA Energy Institute is a recognised leader in the fields of control of power electronics converters for grid and microgrid applications and its Power-Hardware-in-the-Loop experimental facilities for control algorithm validation.
