The evolution of the energy sector is a key topic when it comes to reaching a sustainable future. Hence, making sensible decisions is of paramount importance when planning the future energy system. The development of methodological solutions that facilitate and enhance decision-making process is thus one of the scientific tasks to be undertaken in the path towards a sustainable energy system. In particular, given the multiple energy scenarios to be considered and the multiple aspects to be taken into account (not only economic but also environmental and social), the development of tools based on multi-criteria decision analysis is needed. In this work* authored by de Systems Analysis Unit of IMDEA Energy, a novel methodological framework for the analysis and selection of power generation scenarios under sustainability criteria and with time frame 2020-2050 is proposed and applied.
