15th October: '4th workshop on Photocatalytic Materials' in the framework of the FotoArt-CM project coordinated by IMDEA Energy

'4th workshop on Photocatalytic Materials related to the FotoArt-CM project' will take place at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid on the 15th of October from 10h under the motto 'giving light to our ideas'.

This event is held in the framework of the FotoArt-CM Project coordinated by the Photoactive Processes Unit of IMDEA Energy and aims to contribute to the valorisation of natural resources and wastes that optimise the economic, energy and environmental aspects necessary to close the carbon and nitrogen cycles and lay the foundations for a future "Circular Economy" that can be extrapolated from industrial complexes to smart cities.

The development of new materials to efficiently mimic the natural process of photosynthesis will provide a response to one of the most elusive technological challenges of the last 50 years and a primary objective in research into CO2 recovery, clean hydrogen production and nitrogen fixation.

Two postdoctoral researchers from the institute are taking part in the event's programme: Teresa Naranjo, with the work "Novel techniques for the synthesis of nanostructured porous organic polymers" and Freddy Oropeza, who will present the paper "Photoelectrochemical characterisation of thin film conjugated porous polymers".

The rest of the lectures will be given by the member entities of the consortium:

FotoArt-CM (S2018/NMT-4367) is a Programme funded by the Community of Madrid through the Programme of R&D Activities between Research Groups of the Community of Madrid in Technologies 2018, co-financed with structural funds of the European Union.
