AEBIN award for a predoctoral researcher of IMDEA Energy

The Spanish Association of Bioinorganic Chemistry, AEBIN, has awarded the prize for the best predoctoral publication in their 2020 awards to the predoctoral researcher of IMDEA Energy Institute Ana Arenas Vivo. The article of which Ana is co-author* evaluates the biocide activity of a photoactive Metal-Organic Framework, MOF, (i.e.: MIL-125-NH2 with associated Ag nanoparticles) in the form of a thin film coating and its ability to inhibit bacterial adhesion on surfaces (biofilm). These promising results help position MOFs as alternative antimicrobial agents
