29th April - Newcomers Seminars

Newcomers Seminars aims is that every new researcher (postdoctoralsenior or senior assistant) will have the opportunity to introduce his/her self to IMDEA staff. The session will be composed by two talks 25 min each with 5-10 min each for questions, giving the opportunity to two researchers to introduce their-self and also to show us their line of researchand interests.

The Newcomers seminar of April will be celebrate 29th at noon in the auditorium.

At the same time it will be possible to follow it online at the following link.

The first speaker will be Dr. Charles-Alexis Asselineau, from the High-Temperatures Processes Unit, with the talk entitle “Design, characterisation and optimisation of complex optical and radiant systems for renewable energy applications.”

The second one will be Dr. Elena Alonso, from the Thermochemical Processes Unit, with the talk “Organic synthesis for tuning dendritic zeolites morphology”.

April 29th at 12:00

Dr. Charles-Alexis Asselineau is MSCA IF Fellow in the High-Temperatures Processes Unit. Prior to his incorporation in November 2021, Dr. Asselineau was Research Fellow at the Australian National University in Canberra (Australia) working on Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) technologies. Dr. Asselineau completed his PhD at the Australian National University in 2017, focusing his research on the geometrical optimisation of receivers for high-temperature CST.

Dr. Elena Alonso finished her bachelor's degree in chemistry in 2012. She specialised in organic chemistry when she finished the master's degree in organic chemistry at the Complutense University in July 2014. She obtained the Ph. D. degree with distinction Cum Laude in Organic Chemistry in 2018 at the same University under the supervision of the Prof. Miguel Angel Sierra and Prof. Mar Gómez Gallego. Her doctoral thesis was entitle “Additions and cycloadditions to Group 6 metals of conjugated Fischer carbenes and sequential reactions of alkynes at a single Ir(III) site”. She started at the IMDEA Energy Thermochemical Processes Unit as a Postdoctoral Researcher in December 2021, in the European research project ERC-AdG TODENZE.
