Electroactive metal-organic frameworks for electrochemical energy storage
- Manuel Del Barrio has got a degree in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM, 2019). His Final Degree Project was entitled "Sodium ion battery electrodes based on coordination polymers or metal-organic frameworks (MOF)", and was carried out at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry I, UCM and the Institute of Science and Technology of Polymers of the CSIC. Then, he completed his MSc degree in Energy and Fuels for the Future at the Autónoma University of Madrid (2020), carrying out the Final project at the IMDEA Energy Institute, in the Advanced Porous Materials Unit, entitled "Towards more efficient solar cells: New environmentally friendly 1D perovskites". In October 2020, he joined the Advanced Porous Materials Unit at the IMDEA Energy as a researcher in training, working on nanostructured porous carbons for electrochemical energy storage. As of September 2021, he is a predoctoral researcher at the Advanced Porous Materials Unit and the Electrochemical Processes Unit. As part of the Excellence Programme 'Maria de Maeztu ', this project is framed within the "New concepts of electromobility" line, focusing on the synthesis of new electrically conductive metal-organic networks for the electrochemical energy storage in batteries.
