Dr. Nicola Boaretto
Nicola Boaretto is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the IMDEA Energy Institute, on the development of flexible lithium-ion batteries. He studied Industrial Chemistry at the University of Padova, obtaining a M.Sc. in 2008. Between 2008 and 2010 he worked on the development of composite polymer electrolytes for fuel cells. In 2012, he moved to the Fraunhofer Institute of Silicate Research where he carried out a PhD project on the synthesis and characterization of polymer electrolytes for lithium metal batteries, obtaining the PhD in in Materials Science in 2016. Between 2016 and 2017, as postdoctoral researcher at the Fraunhofer ISC, he had the collaborated in several public and industrial projects, focused on the development of components for lithium batteries. Altogether, his research experience ranges from the synthesis and characterization of polymer electrolytes to the assembly and test of electrochemical storage devices. Nicola Boaretto is co-author of 2 patents and 11 peer-reviewed papers.
