MATCAP: Innovative materials for application in advanced supercapacitors

Research project corresponding to the call 2015 and reference: MAT2015-64167-C2-1-R, within the State Program of Research, Development and Innovation Oriented Challenges of the Society under the National Plan for Scientific Research and Technological Innovation 2013-2016 (Research Challenges 2015).

This project combines capabilities of two research groups; Imdea Energy and CIC Energigurne, with extensive experience in developing new materials for electrochemical energy storage devices. The ultimate aim is to exploit their complementarities and synergies leading to significant development of the technology. In particular the joint participation of the two groups not only promotes development of new electrode and electrolyte materials for electric double layer capacitor (EDLC), but also facilitates to tackle new concepts such as pseudocapacitors and "supercap-batteries"

Partners: IMDEA Energy Institute (Coordinator); CIC Energune
